It’s also valuable to get recommendations from friends and acquaintances. Once you’ve narrowed down your options, it’s essential to meet the photographer in person. This allows you to assess the communication between you and see if the photographer feels like the right fit.

In Latvia, the best wedding photographer for you could be found on the Latvian Wedding Photographers Association. This association only accepts photographers who have photographed at least 20 weddings and meet their strict entry criteria. Choosing a photographer from this association ensures you will receive high-quality work. Another indicator of professionalism is whether the photographer attends international conferences like Way Up North or Bodaf and local events such as the White Workshop.

Before making a final decision, it’s also recommended to review the photographer’s portfolio—not just on Instagram or Facebook, but full wedding stories, usually available on their website.

The cost of a wedding photographer mainly depends on their professionalism and experience. Prices can vary based on several factors, including the wedding date, the number of hours worked, and the location of the ceremony and reception. How does the Wedding Photographer handles the Photoshoot?

A wedding photographer not only helps you prepare for the photoshoot but also makes sure you feel comfortable and at ease during it, even if you’ve never been in front of a camera before.

It’s best to plan the photoshoot in a location that is meaningful to you both—whether it’s in nature, where you first met, or somewhere special to you. Ideally, choose a location close to the ceremony or reception venue to avoid feeling rushed. It’s also wise to have a backup plan in case of bad weather, such as heavy rain, and to move the photoshoot indoors if necessary.

The photoshoot is carefully planned with the couple, and I often recommend splitting it into two parts—one during the day and the other at sunset during the “golden hour.” This approach helps keep the couple from getting too tired and results in a wider variety of photos. Before the wedding, I also discuss not just photography-related details with the couple but am happy to advise on other aspects of the wedding day, such as choosing a wedding planner, videographer, and more.

How would you describe your Wedding Photography Style?

My photography style is best described as documentary because I believe the most beautiful and genuine moments happen when you least expect them. However, I’m not shy about guiding or setting up situations if I feel it will enhance the final result, making it both emotionally rich and visually appealing.

Every couple is unique, so I strive to understand their desires and needs and adapt to them. My goal is to create an atmosphere where the couple feels free to express their love naturally, just as they would at home. I aim to capture these special moments in a way that feels relaxed and unforced—so much so that the couple barely notices the camera.

I’m thrilled by the opportunity to photograph in new and unfamiliar environments, so I’m ready to travel for weddings outside Latvia—whether for a grand ceremony with many guests or an intimate ceremony with just a few close friends and family.

How Many Photos Will We Receive After the Wedding?

The number of photos you receive depends on the number of hours the photographer works. For a full-day wedding, you can expect at least 700 photos, though there’s no strict limit—if I end up with 2,000 high-quality images after editing, the couple will receive them all. Each photo is unique, with most in color, though some are prepared in black and white if that better captures the mood and emotions of the moment. The couple receives their wedding photos as a digital web gallery, along with a selection of prints chosen by me. To preserve your wedding day memories in a special format, I also offer personalized wedding albums.
